College and Gap Year Evening for Students with IEP’s
Date: Wednesday, March 24
Time: 7:00pm-9:00pm
Location: Brookline High School, MLK room
Ages: High School Sophomores, Juniors, Seniors, and Parents

Parents and High School Seniors, Juniors, and Sophomores with IEP’s or 504’s are invited to come to the College and gap year evening program for students with IEP’s or 504’s and their parents. 
Hear from reps from Disability Services at B.U., Northeastern, Curry, Mitchell and Landmark about how you can succeed in college.  Also hear about Gap Year Programs.


On The Town

On The Town, our teen social program will be heading to many fun locations this spring.

Family and Friends Events

Saint Patrick's Day Dance
 Date: March 6
Time: 7:00pm-10:00pm
Location: Brookline High School
 Ages: Grade 7 through Adult

 Get ready to dance the night away at Brookline QUEST's Shamrockin' Celebration! There will be plenty of St. Paddy's Day food on hand, so come hungry!  Remember to wear green! Participants will receive one free raffle ticket with paid admission. Prizes include an IPod, $50.00 Brookline Recreation Gift Certificate, and more!!

Maple Sugaring with the Brookline Recreation Department

 Location: Larz Anderson Park Picnic Shelter

 Maple trees provide beautiful fall foliage in autumn and a sweet sap in spring. Learn some basic tree physiology, explore the trees of Larz Anderson and try your hand at tapping. Enjoy a sweet treat of fresh maple syrup before you go. This is an outdoor program, please dress accordingly. Severe weather date: Sunday, 03/07. Special Olympics

Special Olympics Winter Games

Location: Various locations in Worcester, MA
 Ages: any

 Come out and cheer on our five Special Olympics Basketball teams as they compete in the Special Olympics Massachusetts State Games. We will be competing on Saturday March 13 and Sunday March 14. In addition to many exciting basketball games, there are several events families can participate in including:
Olympic Town: Mechanics Hall Saturday, March 13th, 6:30-9:00pm. Featuring: arts and crafts, massages, airbrush tattoo’s, St. Bernard’s Club, Discover Paris featuring French language lessons, Parisian snacks and much more!!
Dance: Mechanics Hall Saturday, March 13th, 7:00-9:30pm. A Parisian Soiree and elegant evening under the Eiffel Tower. Semi-formal attire encouraged, but not required. Click here for the invitation.
Healthy Athletes Initiatives:
Mechanics Hall Saturday, March 13th, 11:30-5:00pm. SOMA’s Healthy Athletes Program is proud to offer free health screenings in hearing (Healthy Hearing), podiatry (Fit Feet) and physical therapy (Fun Fitness). This will be the largest screening event that Massachusetts has offered and it should be fun and educational for all who participate.

 Brookline Special Olympics is welcoming a new coach to our family! Jennifer Heylin has stepped in to lead the Brookline Sharks swim team, taking over for outgoing coach Penny Weaver. Brookline Special Olympics is very grateful to Penny for all of her hard work during her years as head coach! The Sharks kick off their season February 28th at 9am at the Kirrane Aquatics Center, Tappan Street, Brookline. Brookline Special Olympics Aquatics is appropriate for a range of age and ability levels. Non swimmers are invited to enroll in Brookline Therapeutic Recreation Swimming lessons. Aquatics competition events are based on a variety of strokes.
